Changes in Requirements

3.2 Changes in Requirements

The requirements for a particular system or piece of software typically undergo a considerable amount of change during the course of a project. Changes to requirements may be necessary as a result of changes in the environment in which a system is to operate, or may simply arise as client, user or developer understanding of a project grows and further possibilities emerge for solving relevant problems or benefiting the client organisation in previously unforeseen ways. Some of the different causes of change are identified and discussed by Harker et al. (1993).
